Super Bowl Grid Rules

23RD ANNUAL SUPER BOWL GRID RULES-2009-2010 SEASON

RULES & REGULATIONS

1) In order to win a prize, you must have the correct box at selected times during the Super Bowl.  The winning box is determined by having the last digit of the score by both the AFC & NFC teams.  Example: If the halftime score is Indianapolis 14, New Orleans 7, the winning box is the one showing Indianapolis 4, New Orleans 7.
(Grid #1-9th Place; Grid #2-196th Place; Grid #3-76th Non Prize Winner).

2) Originally, there were 219 participants.  At the end of the season, there are still 215 left.  Grid #1 will have $650, Grid #2 $305, Grid #3 $140.  If anyone failed to send in selections 3 times during the regular season, they were eliminated from the Super Bowl Grid (Antunesn, Alitan, Dknick & Ryry).

3) The Top 100 finishers from the Guppy contest will be in Grid # 1.  The next 100 finishers will be in Grid #2 and the remaining 15 finishers will be in Grid #3.  The remaining 85 boxes in Grid #3 will be filled by the Top 85 finishers who won no money during the season including KOTH (College Bowl & Pro Playoff contests do not count).

4) In case of ties for position, the Guppy with the best record for Week 17 will fill the box first.  If still tied, we go back to Week 16 etc. until the tie is broken.  All disputes will be reviewed by the Board and their decision is final!!!

Pro Playoff Pickem

Hello Guppies,

Well so far the 2009-10 regular season and bowl pool has been a resounding success!  We look forward to closing out the season with our annual Pro Playoff Pickem contest once again being run through officefootball.com.  For those eligible for the Pro Playoff contest the rules are as follows -

For each game you must select both the winner vs. the spread AND the Over/Under.  Also each weekend you will be given one "key pick."  This is your best bet for the weekend in either category from any of the weekend games.  This key pick will be worth 2 bonus points.  The Guppy with the most points (wins + bonus points) will be the winner.  The tiebreaker will be the combined score in the Super Bowl.  If possible we will increase the value for a correct selection for Round 2 to be worth 2 points and increasing in value 1 point per round through the Super Bowl.  If we cannot do this through the site then each selection will continue to be worth 1 point.

2
) 3 did not mail in Week 16-Antunesn, El Duderino & Ryry-They receive the visitors record (8-8). Ryry now has 2 non-selecting weks. The Captain in Vegas, Danielthemaniel & Dknick also have 2 non-selecting weeks.  If they do not select in Week 17, they are not eligible for a Super Bowl Grid Box.

3) December Monthly Contenders-G-Rex Men (40 Wins); Kiss-The-Baby (38); Swalkenberg & Bombersrule2009 (37).  There are NO tiebreakers for monthly prizes.

4) 3 alive in KOTH III (AARP-Marcel, Madisonavcarz & TJR Levine). A deal has been made.  They will all select in Week 17. If there is one winner, he gets $910 and the others get $500.  If there are 2 winners, each gets $705 and the loser gets $500. If all 3 win or lose, they split $1,910.

5) Week 17 has NO Monday night game.  We will use the Sunday night game (NY Jets-Cincinnati) for the total points tiebreaker in Week 17.  In the Week 15 notes, it was thought there was no Sunday night game and another game would be used as the tiebreaker.

6) The selecting deadline is Sunday at Noon for Week 17.

7) Regular Season Winners: Packers-155.  Regular Season Losers: Giants-179; Eagles-155.

8 ) LAST PLACE RULE-You must select in Week 17 to “win” the $250 Last Place prize.  Alitan & Antunesn are not eligible for this prize since they have 3 non-selecting weeks.

9) The Pro Playoff Contest rules will be posted by January 3rd. There are 164 eligible Guppies (see Participant List) who may compete. There is $1,650 in prize money since Boynton Beach Dad joined after the season began.  Prize money will be announced at a later date once Office Pool expenses are determined.

10) 2nd Page Dennis will be away from January 3-10 so there will be a delay in the posting of Week 17corrections and the posting of Week 17 notes.  He will have email access if you have any questions.  Since Week 17 ends on January 3rd and the BCS Championship ends on January 7th, December monthly prizes and annual prizes will not be mailed until January 22.

11) College Bowl Contest Update-This year, we allowed College Bowl eligibles to make selections after the start of the 1st Bowl game with omitted games considered a loss.  For most of the contest, the most omitted was two games.  Since there is also a last place prize, we forgot to consider what would happen if someone entered late and finished with the most losses.  As a result, the Board has decided that anyone who omitted more than two games in selecting is not eligible for the last place prize.

12) A HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF OUR GUPPIES AND THEIR FAMILIES!!!!!
